Florence Guillory Rider

Florence Guillory Rider, 88, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Michael Purcell, of West Orange Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, on September 1, 1931, she was the daughter of Evens Guillory and Vernice Fusilier Guillory. Florence loved her church family and was a devoted member of West Orange Baptist Church for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending her spare time baking, rummaging through garage sales, reading a good book, or taking care of her plants. She loved cats and babies and adored and doted on her children and grandchildren. Florence loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evens and Vernice Guillory; her loving husband, Alfred Rider; son, Michael Wayne Rider; infant son, LeRoy Rider sister, Cecile Pitre; and her brothers, Leonard Guillory and John Guillory.

Florence is survived by children, Dianne Keen, of Orange, Beverly Delahoussaye and husband Randall, of Bridge City, Linda Willis and husband Alex, of DeRidder, LA, Elizabeth Martin, of West Orange, Theresa Smith and husband Bill, of Sargeant, Randy Rider, of Orange, David Rider and wife Leslie, of Little Cypress, and Larry Rider, of Orange; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace LeBlue, Barbara Guillory, Evens Guillory, Jr. and wife Elaine, Bobby Gene Guillory and wife Dianna, and Kim Guillory; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Rider, Kevin Keen, Brett Delahoussaye, Clint Delahoussaye, Patrick Tramel, Timothy Thompson, and Randy Rider.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Rider and David Rider.
