Alicia Garza Peña

 

Alicia Garza Peña, 93, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2018, in Orange.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church in Orange with Reverend David Millner officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Laredo, Texas, on August 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Felix Garza, Sr. and Teresa (Vargas) Garza. Alicia was a devout Christian woman and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Orange. She married Felix Peña, on June 6, 1947. Alicia was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Teresa Garza; husband, Felix Peña, Sr.; sons, Felix Peña, Jr. and Louis Peña; sisters, Olivia, Aurora, Jovita, Polita, and Ester; and her brother, Felix Garza, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rosemary (Rosa) Herrera and husband Luis and son, Ruben Peña; grandchildren, Luis Herrera, Jr. and wife Diane, Rebecca Anzaldua, Anna Herrera, and Lisa Herrera; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel Anzaldua, Alyssa Anzaldua, Skylar Herrera, Gabriel Herrera and Jaxon Herrera.
