The Beaumont Independent School District lost a superb coach and a super gentleman Sunday as Ed Taylor passed away at the age of 37.

Taylor was the last head football coach at Beaumont Ozen High in 2017 before the school merged with Beaumont Central to become the Beaumont United Timberwolves.

He was an assistant coach for Arthur Louis for the Timberwolves last season.

Taylor’s cause of death was not immediately available.

Before becoming Ozen’s head coach, Taylor served as the offensive coordinator at Beaumont Central for three seasons.

Taylor was a member of Beaumont Ozen’s first graduating class in 2000.
