Vidor man arrested for possession of methamphetamine

PRESS RELEASE— 

On Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at approximately 12:02 a.m., Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division observed a white in Color, Chevrolet, Pick-up truck traveling west along the north feeder road of Interstate 10 near Main Street in  Vidor.

Investigators observed the subject vehicle fail to signal its turn from the north feeder road as it turned south on North Main Street.  The subject vehicle was then observed turning into the Burger King parking lot, again failing to signal.

A traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot.  The driver of the subject vehicle was identified as Charles Jeffery Adams, a 33 year old resident of Vidor.  The driver consented to the search of the subject vehicle and during the search Investigators located a clear plastic bag containing approximately 29 grams of a clear crystal like substance that due to their past training and experience they believed to be methamphetamine.

Adams was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG1 a Felony of the second degree and transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility where he was booked in on the above charge.

Adams was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Stagner and his bond was set at $25,000.
