Orange Police Officer and his field training officer arrested a man who willingly put his arms behind his back and turned around when they located the man.

It began with a call at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of New York and Missouri Streets in Orange in reference to a male who was possibly intoxicated.

When police arrived, the man, who had been driving a Jeep Cherokee, had fled towards the area of Cove Apartments.

While searching the area, the officers found a man walking in the center of the complex and when they approached him, the officers could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the man.

The man, identified as Cody Taylor, 29, stated, “You caught me,” according to the police report.

Taylor then turned around and placed his hands behind his back.

Taylor was taken into custody for Public Intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor.
