Carl’s Jr. Restaurant in Pinehurst had to close its doors early Wednesday night shortly after 7 pm. Due to a vehicle hitting the backflow water system.

According to information obtained from Pinehurst City Manager Robbie Hood a Lincoln Town Car went through the drive-thru of the restaurant and somehow the driver hit the backflow water system which is designed for the safety of the drinking water which is tied into the irrigation system. Due to the damage of the waterline the main water to the restaurant have to be turned off.

This created a major safety violation as in order to have drinking water that is running through a irrigation system it must have running water.

Before the restaurant can reopen, a certified plumber will need to fix the back flow system.

The driver of the Lincoln car was uninjured from the incident and had to have his car removed from the drive thru by a tow truck.
