Special to The Leader

The Beaumont Art League is preparing for one of its most popular shows of the year: Latin American Influences in Art. All artwork in the show reflects the Latino culture, experiences and influences. The show will be on display beginning Nov. 4 and the opening reception, which is free and open to the public, is 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 11. The show closes Nov. 20.

Judge for the 2017 show will be Greg Busceme, Director of The Art Studio, Inc. Cash awards will be given for First, Second and Third Place winners in the adult division.

A Youth exhibit of works – also focusing on Latin American culture – by artist younger than 18 will be on display in the Scurlock gallery. There is no entrance fee or judging for the youth works, but it’s a wonderful opportunity for young artists to have their work seen and appreciated in a gallery setting.

Come see artwork in all mediums celebrating the rich cultural history of Latin Americans and enjoy incredible food provided by Carlos Zuniga of Tacos La Bamba.

During the reception, artist Calvin Carter will do live sketches.
