Woodville school bus crash cause determined to be unsafe speed, bus driver issued citation

PRESS RELEASE — The Texas Department of Public Safety has completed the investigation into the Woodville school bus crash that occurred last month.
On March 31, 2016, a Woodville Independent School District school bus was traveling eastbound on FM 1013 in Jasper county.  The bus travelled off the roadway into a ditch.  The school bus rolled several times before coming to rest in an open field.
The investigating Troopers determined that the driver of the school bus, Brett Tucker Jr. (29) of Cushing, Texas, was traveling at an unsafe speed for the road and weather conditions.  Tucker was issued a traffic citation for unsafe speed.
