The county received debris clean up guidance from the Texas Department of Emergency and FEMA on Friday, April 1st. The following debris cleanup plan is for public use and must be limited to debris generated as a result of the recent flooding experienced in Orange County. Trash and regular garbage will not be accepted.

This plan is for Orange County unincorporated areas ONLY. City officials will release plans for their jurisdictions.

 County Pickup

The county will pick up debris from Monday, April 4th through Friday, April 22nd in the affected unincorporated areas. The county will make multiple passes through the April 22nd deadline.

Residents MUST separate debris into the following categories:

  • White goods, such as household appliances
  • Construction debris, such as carpeting, sheetrock and furniture
  • Green debris, such as trees, limbs and plants

The county will not pick up hazardous debris. Individuals may transport hazardous debris to the landfill location below.

The county will have trucks assigned to each category and all debris may not be removed at the same time.

The separated debris must be placed in the right of way (beside the road), but not impede traffic or drainage.
