Due to severe and continued rain and flooding in Orange County, local leaders are providing sand and bags for residents to use across the county.
Sand and bags are currently available at:
Precinct 1 County Road & Bridge Maintenance Barn on North Highway 87 at North Teal.
Precinct 2 11897 State Highway 62 in Mauriceville, directly across from Market Basket on Highway 62.
Precinct 3 County Road & Bridge Maintenance Barn located on 2502 West Round Bunch Road.
Precinct 4 County Road & Bridge Maintenance Barn located on 375 Claiborne Street.
Residents are welcome to bag the sand to use to protect their home from rising water.
Bring your own shovel, local leaders stress.
Orange County leaders also announced Orange County Transportation will close Friday (May 3) due to weather related issue within the offices. Busses are anticipated to return to normal schedules on Monday (May 6).
