Little Cypress-Mauriceville student earns Crime Stoppers scholarship

A Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School student earned a Crime Stoppers scholarship, one of six announced this week.

Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas announced the Larry Beaulieu 2024 Scholarship

recipients — $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors whose parent, step-parent, or legal guardian is a law enforcement officer within the Crime Stoppers of

Southeast Texas service area.

Locally in Orange County, Mariska Steele received the honor this year.

The Larry Beaulieu Scholarship supports the education and development of area law enforcement officers’ children and to also honor the visionary leadership of Beaulieu, the organization’s founding chairman.

2024 Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas scholarships:

• Kaylar Steltz – Monsignor Kelly HS – Parent Alisha Steltz (JCSO)

• Emerey Riley – PNG ISD – Parents Carol Riley (BPD) James Riley (JCSO)

• Ava Eastepp – Hamshire-Fannett ISD – Parents Jeffrey Eastepp (BPD) Cody Eastepp (JCSO)

• Kyndall Schroeder – West Hardin County CISD – Stepfather Chief Aaron Burleson (Sour Lake PD)

• Mariska Steele – LCM CISD – Parent Chuck Steele (OPD)

• Emily Morrow – Lumberton ISD – Parents Matthew & Haley Morrow (BPD)

“Crime Stoppers is humbled to be a part of building a stronger future for our community and to honor and show our appreciation for our law enforcement agency partners,” a release stated.

“Good luck to the class of 2024, we salute you and look forward to honoring members of the class of 2025 next year.”
