MAURICEVILLE — The man found dead on Monday in the 5300 block of Mesquite Drive in Orange County has been identified.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, he is John Anthony Wall, 47, of Orange.
On Feb. 28, the Sheriff’s Office received information from a friend of Wall that he had not been seen in several days.
A missing person’s report was then immediately completed.
A forensic identification was necessary to identify the body, according to the sheriff’s office, which received confirmation Wednesday.
The family of John Anthony Wall has been notified.
The investigation remains open pending final autopsy; however, no obvious signs of foul play are present.
Earlier Wednesday, Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins said the man appeared to be anywhere from 40 to 50 years of age, noting the death was not suspicious.
An autopsy had been performed but did not reveal cause or manner of death, Jenkins said.
The man’s body was found under a canopy at an abandoned mobile home.
The deceased had been dead for some time.
In early March, the sheriff’s office asked for the public’s help in locating a man who had been missing since Feb. 24 that was last seen in the Mauriceville area.
