Texas Department of Transportation outlines Rainbow Bridge closure, maintenance project

BRIDGE CITY — Southern Road and Bridge has been awarded a project in the amount of $10.9 million to perform extensive maintenance to Rainbow Bridge.
During construction, Rainbow Bridge is going to close, and all traffic detoured to Veterans Memorial Bridge, with two lanes in each direction.
A temporary detour will be constructed on the west side of Veterans Memorial Bridge to help alleviate traffic while Rainbow Bridge undergoes maintenance.
Construction is anticipated to begin in late summer or early fall and take approximately 18 months.
