The Lutcher Theater is hosting Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Come From Away” next week.

On Thursday at 7:30 p.m., audiences will have the opportunity to experience the heartwarming and uplifting true story that has captivated audiences around the world.

“Come From Away” tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them with open arms in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

With a stirring score and a compelling narrative, the musical celebrates the power of human kindness and the bonds that unite us in times of crisis.

“We all know what happened on the fateful day of September 11, but this is the story of what happened on September 12,” said Lynae Sanford, executive director of the Lutcher Theater.

“This production reminds us of the resilience of the human spirit and the extraordinary capacity for compassion, even in the face of adversity. It’s a story that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.”

Patrons also have the opportunity to watch a pre-show video of the theater’s exclusive interview showcasing retired American Airlines Captain Beverley Bass, a Dallas native, who is one of the main characters portrayed in “Come From Away.”

The video is available on the second floor lobby with show times at 6:45 and 7 p.m.

Tickets range in price from $40-$90.
