DuGood leaders say the credit union is on a mission to make saving money regularly attainable for everyone.

DuGood Credit Union is launching the Round Up Savings Program.

Designed to turn spare change into savings, Round Up is a financial tool that “rounds up” members’ daily debit card transactions to the nearest dollar and automatically places the difference into a savings account.

Every time members shop, their savings grow.

Chance to Win $250

To jump start members’ savings, DuGood is offering Southeast Texans who enroll in the program a chance to win $250.

DuGood President and CEO Clint Wilson

Every time Round Up users swipe their debit card, they’ll receive an entry to win. The credit union is announcing one winner weekly between Monday and May 24.

DuGood President and CEO Clint Wilson hopes to make saving easy and members to do so regularly.

“The Round-Up Savings Program aligns with DuGood’s commitment to promoting financial wellness and encouraging regular savings habits among our members,” Wilson said.

“We believe this program will enhance our members’ savings experience with minimal impact on their budget. The rounded-up amounts are typically small, creating a painless saving process.”

Benefits

According to Wilson, some of the key benefits of Round Up include: effortless saving, helping members develop consistent saving habits and encouragement of members to accumulate funds for emergencies, future goals or general savings.

Wilson said he believes the program complements the many benefits DuGood debit cards already offer, such as rewards, enhanced security through Online Card Controls and convenient payment options with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

The Round Up program launches March 4 and is be available to DuGood’s current members and anyone who would like to join the credit union.
