Families are invited to explore Stark Museum of Art Family Day through fun activities specially planned for children of all ages.

Admission and all activities are free of charge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27.

Tiny artists ages 5 and under will find age-appropriate, art-related play and art making in the Tot Spot.

Guests can also take part in an adventure through the galleries while completing a scavenger hunt and earn a prize at the end.

Families also don’t want to miss the art-inspired photo spot and the opportunity to observe local artist Calvin Carter as he sketches in the galleries.

“We cannot wait to welcome you to Family Day on Saturday, January 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The museum will be bustling with fun activities for everyone in your family. Be sure to check out our new mobile scavenger hunt, make a one-of-a-kind work of art in our studio and see our new student art exhibition,” said Jennifer Dickinson, interim executive director and director of education for Stark Museum of Art.

Also on view in the Community Art Gallery will be “ART: It’s Elementary,” an exhibition of original works of art from local kindergarten through third grade students.

The recognition ceremony for students featured in the exhibition will take place at 2 p.m. in the museum lobby.

Family Day also includes activity stations hosted by community partners from The W.H. Stark House, Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, Heritage House and Train Depot, among others.
