The community is invited to a march this month in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

The NAACP Orange, Texas Branch, Unit #6211-B is hosting the event, with a theme of “Communities in Action, Empowering the Dream.”

The event is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 15.

The march begins at Salem United Methodist Church, 402 W. John Avenue in Orange.

The march concludes at Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion, 601 W. Division St. in Orange.

“We will gather at 9:30 a.m. and begin the march at 10 a.m.,” organizers said.

“No vehicles are allowed. Wear comfortable shoes, bring your signs and singing voices.”
