Severe weather concerns outlined for region Friday and Monday

A few rounds of showers and storms are expected Friday, according to the National Weather Service Lake Charles office.
Rainfall aside, there lies a small threat of severe conditions, weather watchers say.
A coastal low pressure is expected to develop over Southeast Texas and lift across southeast Louisiana overnight into Friday through Friday.
Moderate to heavy rainfall favored along and south of Interstate 10.
Rainfall amounts of 1 – 2 inches possible with locally higher amounts. Minor flooding across urban areas may occur.
“Beneficial rainfall will continue to help the ongoing drought,” the Weather Service said.
Another significant storm system expected to affect the region Monday and Monday night.
Expect windy conditions areawide with the system Monday, and behind the departing surface low on Tuesday.
