The City of Orange recently offered congratulations to Battalion Chief Joel Gilbert for graduating from the Lamar Institute of Technology Regional Police Academy.

The Orange Fire Department sponsored Gilbert to acquire a Texas Commission of Fire Protection Arson Investigator certification.

“Currently, this makes him only one of five firefighters in the Orange Fire Department who are certified peace officers,” a city release state. “Thank you, Chief Gilbert, for over 12 years of service in the fire department, and congratulations on your graduation.”
