VINTON, La. — The man whose body was recovered from the waterway near Old Highway 90/ Burnout Bridge in Louisiana last week has been identified as Steven Hagan, 34.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Nov. 30, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a body found in the waterway in Vinton.

The CPSO Marine Division was able to recover the body.

At the time of the investigation, there were no “obvious signs of foul play,” according to CPSO spokesperson Kayla Vincent.

As the investigation progressed, it was found Hagan had been reported missing in Orange County.

According to Vincent, a family member told detectives Hagan was last seen after she dropped him off to fish near the location where his body was recovered.

The coroner will determine the cause of death, and detectives have not yet received autopsy results.

The investigation is continuing.
