MAURICEVILLE — Orange County Precinct 2 Constable Jeremiah Gunter announced he executed a search warrant Wednesday at 7740 Cohenour Road due to ongoing complaints from neighbors.

The search warrant came after hours of surveillance, traffic stops and cooperating witnesses testimony over several months, he said.

With the help of Orange Police Department Narcotics, West Orange Police Department, members of the Regional Tactical Response Team, Constables Lannie Claybar and Brad Frye, along with Orange County Narcotics, the search warrant was executed and the property was secured.

“The search warrant consisted of one residence on the property,” Gunter said. “It is believed that the business was not associated with the illegal activity that was occurring from the RV. While we did locate items believed to be used for possession/distribution of methamphetamines, we believe subjects were able to dispose any narcotics prior to securing them.”

Even though narcotics were not found, a message was delivered, Gunter said, adding with the help from the community and continued support from local agencies, the constable’s office is continuing to “proactively and aggressively” combat the distribution of narcotics in Orange County.

“Four subjects were taken into custody, one was arrested for a felony possession warrant out of Orange County, one was arrested for a state parole warrant out of Alabama and two were arrested for felon in possession of firearms.”

Gunter said anyone with anything to report can call his office at 409-882-7811.
