The City of Bridge City has appointed Tod McDowell as Chief of Police.  McDowell has worked for the Bridge City Police Department for 27 years and has been in law enforcement a total of 34 years.

McDowell will fill the position vacated by Paul Davis who retired in June.  He has worked in all phases of law enforcement.  In addition to his duties as Captain in charge of the Support Division, he is the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City.  McDowell has extensive training in ICS classes required by FEMA for disaster relief.

“We feel Mr. McDowell is the perfect candidate to move the department forward,” said City Manager Jerry Jones.  “His wealth of experience and training in the law enforcement field will be a valuable asset for the Bridge City Police Department.”
