Three vehicle wreck leaves one dead

A three vehicle wreck, possible caused by a medical emergency, left one man dead.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, officers with Orange Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Strickland Drive and Edgar Brown in reference to a traffic collision.
Upon arrival, officers observed three vehicles to be involved, a 2018, red in color, Hyundai Elantra, a 2013, gray in color, Dodge Charger and a 2020, silver in color, Jeep Gladiator.
The investigation revealed the driver of the red Hyundai, Willie Charles Johnson, 50, appeared to have had a medical emergency as he was driving east on Edgar Brown Drive.
The other two vehicles were stopped at the red light, facing east. Johnson’s vehicle drove between the Jeep and the Charger, striking both vehicles before coming to rest on the side of the roadway on MacArthur Drive, just east of the intersection of Strickland and Edgar Brown.
Johnson was unconscious and unresponsive when Officers arrived. CPR was immediately initiated, but Johnson was unable to be revived.
Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 Judge Dubose-Simonton arrived on scene and pronounced Johnson deceased. Dubose-Simonton ordered an autopsy to be performed.
The investigation is ongoing.
