From the Mayor of Orange
The world will continue to change. The last few years have been a whirlwind of disasters, loss of loved ones, scandals, hurricanes, floods and now a pandemic. The situations continue to bring about a new twist and just when we think we’ve got it together another issue arises. Many have asked why Lord? Some have even questioned their very existence in a time where racial tension, sex trafficking and the murder of a five year old child are the main topics of local news.
The arguing and bickering on social media of who’s wrong and who’s right and which political party reigns supreme has ended many a friendship. Through all of these things I wish to encourage you to be aware of what is going on and to analyze the information yet remain strong in your character.
God has given you an identity that no one else can claim as their own. There’s only one of you in this world so refuse to let the madness change who you are and what God called you to be. The storms and tribulations will continue to come one after another yet your character will always reflect who you really are inside, “Refuse to Break”!
Remember that you are in control of what you allow to affect you so if it has become overwhelming, turn it off. Unplug and self-reflect. Now is the time for new leaders to arise and join the team. Now is the time for us to pause and pray, remembering to keep God first in all that we do.
Our community has been blessed over and over again. The atmosphere has changed, and we are still a family. Families find ways to work through issues and stick together so who’s in with me?
Together we will get through this and I remind you to once again “Refuse to Break”.
God Bless!!!!!
