Police investigate Bridge City homicide

On June 10, 2020 around 8:50 p.m. officers responded to Citrus Cove apartment complex located 140 Charles Ave. in reference to a welfare concern.
Upon officer’s arrival, they met with a concerned family member.
When officers were unable to make contact with the resident they entered the apartment where they found a deceased female identified as Janette Carney, 78, of Bridge City.
At this time the death is being investigated as a homicide by the Bridge City Police Department.
