Orange County Disaster Rebuild and Southeast Texas Food Bank teamed up to make a difference with a COVID-19 Emergency Response Drive Thru Food Distribution on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center. Volunteers from Texas AgriLife, Orange County Disaster Rebuild, Southeast Texas Food Bank, Salvation Army and United Way of Orange County helped distribute two gallons of milk and eight pounds of frozen chicken to those who patiently waited in a line that extended to Interstate 10. The organizations distributed 1000 boxes of food to help Orange County families during the COVID-19 crisis.
