BRIDGE CITY – Bridge City ISD is making great plans for their Seniors – Class of 2020.
There will be a Grad Processional May 22. There will also be a BCHS Seniors Only Prom June 12. Baccalaureate Service is set for June 14 and graduation is planned for Larry Ward Stadium June 20.
The first item on the agenda is a Grad Processional, which will be Friday, May 22 at 8:30 p.m.
The purpose of the event is to honor the BCHS Class of 2020 original graduation date.
This is not a parade in the traditional sense – it will not be at parade speed nor will it impede traffic.
Seniors are invited to ride in processional, which begins at 8:30 p.m. The processional staging area will be First Baptist Church at 200 West Roundbunch Road starting at 8 p.m. Please remain in cars upon arrival.
Each car may be decorated celebrating their senior – one senior per vehicle. Each senior will need a family member to drive them and rest of family can also accompany senior in same vehicle. Students may not ride in truck beds nor in convertibles parade style.
Each passenger in each vehicle will complete health screen to participate. Seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown and sit on passenger side of vehicle. No spectators are allowed on BCISD property. Please observe social distancing if you choose to be along Texas Avenue and cheer the seniors as they make their Cardinal drive around BCHS campus and facilities recalling memories and seeing some surprises along the way.
A playlist chosen by Senior Class Leadership and Words of Encouragement for the Class of 2020 from BCHS administration, faculty and staff will air on KOGT 1600-AM from 8:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
Seniors must RSVP no later than May 21 to participate.
