BEAUMONT, Texas – The following information from the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center summarizes activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, and Tyler counties:

Total calls received by Call Center – 2,886

  • 100 calls received today
  • 1,079 patients have been tested at the two test sites

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick also issued the 7 th amendment to Jefferson County’s Emergency Order stating the temporary suspension of local cremation permits of all suspected or positive COVID-19 decedents until 11:59 p.m. on May 4, 2020 unless otherwise amended or terminated. In Addendum 5, Branick also that all golf courses, driving ranges and golf training centers be closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
