A cross was rescued from neglect on Thursday morning. Jason Garlaska saw the abandoned cross and asked if he could have it. He plans to restore and display it. It did cause a double-take as he traveled through Bridge City with a large cross in the bed of his pickup truck. When it was described as a sign of hope, he said his heart skipped a beat because his grandfather’s name was Hope and was a Baptist minister in Kountze.
