Cardinals drop Buna in their BC Tourney opener
BRIDGE CITY – The Bridge City Cardinals got off to a great start to their own Bridge City Tournament Thursday by belting the Buna Cougars 8-1.
The Cardinals struck fast, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first and then had a big four-run jaunt in the bottom of the fifth.
The Cardinals (2-0) outhit the Cougars 11-2.
Payton Havard and Cameron Yadon had two runs batted in a piece for the Cardinals while Logan Hamm and Jaxon Bernard had two hits apiece.
Trey Lovelace pitched well on the hill for the Cardinals as he worked four innings and struck out two.
