Lions fall in tight playoff battle to SA Legacy

The Community Christian Lions wrapped up a great season Thursday night.

The Lions traveled to Legacy Christian in San Antonio to play the No. 1 seed in the district and dropped a hard-fought 77-73 decision.

CCS Lions came out strong in the first quarter outscoring the Legacy Rams 18-15. However the Rams came back with a big second quarter outscoring the Lions 28-16, leaving the Lions down at the half 43-34.

The Rams again outscored the Lions in the third quarter 15-13 but the Lions were not done yet. In the fourth quarter the Lions outscored the Rams 26-19 but came up just short of a victory.

The Lions had a great season under Coach Jon Houchin.  In this first round of play-offs James Menard put up a big 35 points and Levi Rogers followed with 20 points.  Bryer Gray scored 10 points, Ryan Davis scored 4 and Rahul Patel scored 2. Coach Houchin said “He is so proud of these boys and their season, they fought with the heart of a Lion and it showed.”
