BRIDGE CITY – The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns escaped Cardinal Gym with a 44-37 District 22-4A victory over the Bridge City Cardinals Friday night.

Austin Richardson continued his hot hand for the Cardinals (11-18, 1-7) as he poured in 21 points but the Longhorns (19-11, 2-6) walked away with the win.

The Cardinals will hit the road Tuesday when they face the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks in Sour Lake. Hardin-Jefferson (22-9, 7-1) nipped Lumberton (20-10, 3-5) 42-39 Tuesday night.
