As the execution of the bond projects have transpired, I have tried to keep the community informed of our progress.

In prior articles, I have informed you of our progress as we moved through phase one of a three phase project.

In phase one, we have completed the following projects: football stadium, core classroom furniture updates, classroom technology enhancements, gymnasium renovations, and baseball and softball renovations.

As we enter the completion stage of phase one, we are moving full steam ahead into phase two. We are currently updating our HVAC systems at our campuses. This project started at West Orange Stark Middle School and will conclude this summer at West Orange Stark High School.

Additionally, we have completed the drawings of the event center and football press box. This project will go out for bids Monday morning, and we anticipate breaking ground in February.

Also, the weight room conversion and a roof renovation on a portion of the high school will be included in Monday’s bid packet.

Additionally, in phase two, we anticipate sending the new transportation center and cosmetology lab out for bids in April.

The projected date of completion for the transportation center is January 2021, and the completion date of the cosmetology lab is August 2020. Lastly, during phase two, we will complete the updates to our classrooms in the career center, which include our automotive and carpentry shops.

As we have progressed through each phase of the bond projects, we have also made repairs that have been taken care of outside of the bond projects.

We have repaired the roof at the middle school and are in the process of putting a new roof on the North Early Childhood Center.

Also, we have replaced scoreboards at all of our athletic facilities.

We are excited about all of the changes taking place in the district and the impact it will have on student learning and achievement!

We believe in John Maxwell’s philosophy that “One is too small a number to achieve greatness.”

Therefore, we thank our parents, the community, and business partners for your continued support.

Go Mustangs!
