SOUR LAKE – The Bridge City Lady Cardinals traveled Tuesday night to Sour Lake searching for a win, and came home with the victory over the Hardin Jefferson Lady Hawks 2-1 in soccer action.

The Cards took advantage of the marsh of a field and scored early off of a penalty kick by Reesie Ryder.

Ryder wasn’t done yet though and capitalized on an HJ error to score her second goal of the night before the first half was complete.

Whitleigh Moreau added four shots on goal. The Lady Cards worked hard on each side of the field and fought for every ball. Kaitlyn Lawrence had a stellar performance in the goal with 21 saves with only one goal allowed.

The Lady Cardinals will take on the Hamshire Fannett Lady Horns on Friday at 7 p.m. in Bridge City.
