LC-M’s Griffith goes into SETCA Hall of Honor

- Courtesy Photo Long-time LC-M baseball coach Steve Griffith was inducted into the SETCA Hall of Honor Saturday.
The Southeast Texas Coaches Association inducted four new members into its Hall of Honor Saturday in Beaumont, including long-time Little Cypress-Mauriceville baseball coach Steve Griffith.
Griffith, a 1983 LC-M graduate, composed a 609-256 career mark with the Bears over 26 glorious seasons.
The Bears also competed in the postseason 20 of those years and played in 108 playoff games, winning 68 of them.
LC-M made the Class 4A State Championship Game in 1996 and made the Regional Finals six times in Griffith’s outstanding tenure.
Joining Griffith in the Hall of Honor includes former PN-G head football coach Matt Burnett; Barbers Hill volleyball coach John Leonard; and long-time trainer Johnie McDonald.
