The Newton Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a deceased female over the weekend.

The body was located in an outbuilding behind the residence on Farm to Market Road 2626 just north of Newton.

The Newton Sheriff’s Office, Newton Police Department and Texas Rangers responded.

The body was that of a 32-year-old female. Justice of the Peace, Judge Mike Greer held the inquest. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Judge Greer has ordered an autopsy.

The investigation is being conducted by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Newton Police Department and the Texas Rangers.
