Hawks scoot past Mustangs, 79-55

SOUR LAKE – The West Orange-Stark Mustangs fell to the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks 79-55 in District 22-4A play on the road Tuesday night.

The Mustangs (12-14, 1-2) led the Hawks (19-8, 4-0) 14-12 after the first period until H-J exploded on a big run in the second quarter.

H-J outscored the Mustangs 31-11 in the second period to lead 43-25 at the half and won the third quarter 17-10 to expand their lead to 60-35 entering the fourth.

Labarius Spraggins led the Mustangs with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Terry Harris contributed 10 points and four assists. Shemar Manaway had nine points and seven rebounds. Darren Anderson had nine points while Quincy Ledet added six boards.

The Mustangs will play host to Little Cypress-Mauriceville Friday.
