Lions motor past Calvary Baptist in district action

The Community Christian Lions took down the Calvary Baptist Eagles 41-36 in district hoop action Tuesday night in Conroe.
The Lions came into the game with high expectations for themselves and their young Lions team. Led by Juniors James Menard and Levi Rogers, the Lions came out fast and furious. James Menard led the team with 23 points and six steals. Levi Rogers worked the post, finishing with 11 points and his personal best on both offensive and defensive rebounding. Point Guard Bryer Gray lended his fast ball handling and stealing abilities to also spark the Lions.
The Lions host the Baytown Christian Academy Bulldogs on Thursday, Jan. 9 on their home court at Orange Church of God 1907 N. 16th St in Orange. The girls play at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
