GIRLS HOOP WRAP: Lady Bobcats cruise past Warren in 22-3A play

ORANGEFIELD – The Orangefield Lady Bobcats improved to a perfect 4-0 on the District 22-3A season with a convincing 67-38 win over the Warren Lady Warriors at Bobcat Gym Tuesday night.

The defending 22-3A champion Lady Bobcats (13-7) outscored Warren 16-4 in the first quarter. The Lady Warriors fought hard to get within nine early in the third quarter and then the Lady Bobcats went on a 30-10 run to roll to the win.

Faith Fregia led the Lady Bobcats with 24 points, 17 of them coming in the second half.

Jacey Bourque filled up the stat sheet with 19 points and nine rebounds. Stormi Lorenzo had one of her best outings of the campaign as she filtered in 12 points to go along with eight boards.

Karlie Moore notched a strong effort for the Lady Warriors as she poured in 20 points. Guard Katie Stewart had nine points for Warren. Mary Clyner led Warren with seven rebounds.

Orangefield finished with a 35-26 rebounding edge. Warren finished with 26 turnovers while the Lady Bobcats had 17.

Orangefield was 19-of-29 from the free-throw line while Warren went 16-of-23.

The Lady Bobcats will look to continue their winning ways when they venture to Kountze Friday.

 

WO-S girls

 

WEST ORANGE – The WO-S Lady Mustangs rallied for a huge District 22-4A win at Mustang Gym Tuesday night, downing the Silsbee Lady Tigers 59-54.

The Lady Mustangs (13-8, 2-1) trailed the Lady Tigers (13-8, 2-2) at the half and then turned it on in the second half, outscoring Silsbee by 15.

B’Jne Arvie had a huge outing for the Lady Mustangs as she bruised her way to a whopping 28 points and 14 rebounds.

Gabby Tims contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Lady Mustangs. Marlandria Hebert notched nine points, crashed the boards for 17 rebounds and had six steals.

Anaia Henderson had five points, eight rebounds and six steals while Keshaunia Winbush added eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

The Lady Mustangs will look to keep on rolling with a road trip to Hamshire-Fannett Friday night.

 

BC girls

BRIDGE CITY – The Bridge City Lady Cardinals nabbed their first District 22-4A win of the season by defeating the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 47-35 at Cardinal Gym Tuesday night.

Aspen Daniels paced the Lady Cardinals (15-8, 1-2) with 17 points while Kyndall Harrison filtered in 14. Hamshire-Fannett drops to 1-12 on the season and 0-4 in district.

The Lady Cardinals will visit Hardin-Jefferson Friday night.

 

LC-M girls

BEAUMONT – The LC-M Lady Bears zipped past the Kelly Lady Bulldogs 64-50 in non-district action at Bulldog Gym Tuesday night.

Zaria Johnson powered the Lady Bears with 15 points and had five assists and three steals.

Chelsea Perry collected a nice double-double, scoring 14 points, snagging 13 rebounds while also dishing off six assists. Brittany Wyatt powered her way to 13 points and seven boards.

The Lady Bears return to 22-4A action Friday when they play host to Lumberton.
