Woman struck by train in serious condition

On December 23, 2019, at 5:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Link Avenue in reference to a Train/ Pedestrian accident.
Upon arrival, officers observed a Union Pacific Train stopped at the intersection.
Officer met with train personnel, who directed them to a female on the tracks between Link Avenue and Burton Avenue.
The female’s name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The female was transported by Acadian Air Med to St. Elizabeth’s hospital with major injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
