To The Leader

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush visited Southeast Texas and recognized several members of the community for their hard work in helping Hardin, Orange and Jefferson counties recover from Hurricane Harvey. In a small ceremony at the Hard Bean Coffee and Café, Commissioner Bush presented long-term recovery group partners, Michelle Tubberville and Michelle Brewer, as well as Hard Bean owner Diane Martin, with a coin, folded flag and flag certificate for their dedication to helping Texans recover.

Michelle Brewer has served as the Hardin County long-term recovery group’s director since Hurricane Harvey. She has worked closely with the Texas General Land Office (GLO) to ensure community needs are met.

Michelle Tubbleville has served as the Orange County long-term recovery group’s director since Hurricane Harvey. She is highly involved in the local recovery process and led the effort to bring national recovery resources from major nonprofits into Orange County.

Diane Martin’s family evacuated to the café during Hurricane Harvey and shut down regular operations to feed first responders. Commissioner Bush thanked her for her efforts to help her community.
