PRESS RELEASE — Gotta get right to it. Gotta get back to the south end of the county. We have a man with mental issues in the woods. He is armed but no threat to the public. He wants to harm us so we will harm him. Very serious situation.

Early in the week we had a fatal shooting off of FM 2626 north of Newton. Two men had been feuding over a woman for a while. One of the men had a Criminal Trespassing Warning filed on him. He went to the other guys house anyway. A hostile confrontation took place. Trespasser was shot and died. We are still investigating.

We have been keeping all our Volunteer Fire Departments busy. Grass fires, woods fires and even a house fire. Please remember don’t burn when it’s dry and windy.
