HOOP ROUNDUP: Cardinals scoot past Kirbyville

BC boys

BRIDGE CITY – The Bridge City Cardinals upped their early season record to 3-1 Tuesday night as they crushed Kirbyville 69-30 at Cardinal Gym.’

Austin Richardson powered the balancd Cardinals with 14 points while Grant Boudreaux chimed in with 10 points.

The Cardinals will be participating in the Nederland Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

WO-S boys

PORT ARTHUR — The Port Arthur Memorial Titans defeated the West Orange-Stark Mustangs 77-43 Tuesday night at Titan Gym.

Jalon Ross led the Mustangs with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Labarius Spraggins had 10 points and seven boards. Adrian Crochet-Hernandez had eight points while Bran Keller scored six and Quinton Proctor added five rebounds.

The Mustangs are competing in the Deweyville Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

LC-M boys

LIBERTY – The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears fell to the Liberty Panthers 72-60 Tuesday night at Panther Gym.

Cole Freeman led the LC-M (1-4) attack with 15 points while Ethan McCollum filtered in 10.

The Bears are participating in the Aransas Pass Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

OF boys

LUMBERTON – The Orangefield Bobcats dropped a 61-35 decision to the Lumberton Raiders on the road Tuesday night.

Coy Bryant paced the Bobcat attack with 10 points.

The Bobcats are participating in the Franklin Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

LC-M girls

VIDOR – The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears got defensive Tuesday night as they throttled the Vidor Lady Pirates 37-15 in non-district action at Pirate Gym.

The Lady Bears (3-2) led 6-2 after the first quarter and 14-4 at intermission and then went on a 15-2 jaunt in the third quarter to really pull away.

Christina Joseph paced the Lady Bear attack with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Chelsea Perry notched six points, nine rebounds and six steals. Zaria Johnson had six points and three steals. Zoe Levens tallied five points while Kodee Ferguson swiped four steals.

The Lady Bears will compete in the Evadale Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

BC girls

WINNIE – Aspen Daniels fired in 21 points for the Bridge City Lady Cardinals Tuesday night on the road but the East Chambers Lady Bucs walked away with a 52-47 win over the Lady Cardinals.

Bridge City will be competing in the Deweyville Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

OFJH results

On Tuesday night night the boys JH basketball hosted the Kountze Lions and went 2-2 on the night.

7th B leading scorer was Kaden Knott with 4 pts

7th A leading scorer was Ty Butler with 5

Both 8th grade teams came away with convincing wins. 8th B won 24-12 leading the way was Cameron Dearing and Bryson Tait.

8th A rounded out the night with a win. The Lions kept it close in the 1st half but the boys put the pedal to the metal in 2nd half to blow them out 33-18. Great effort and a strong performance from Logan Cheek and Kyle Michael  sealed the deal. The boys will travel to Anahuac next Monday to take on the Panthers.
