Experience the magic of Christmas on Saturday, December 14, 2019, for Dreaming of a Green Christmas at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center.

Dreaming of a Green Christmas is a daylong family event to celebrate the holiday season. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with Santa Claus who will be available to take requests and photos.

Throughout the day, families can enjoy a hands-on experience of making a Christmas ornament for their Christmas tree using natural materials. 

Adults can participate in a wreath-making workshop, where they will make-and-take a holiday festive wreath. RSVP for the wreath making workshop with your materials fee at shangrilagardens.org.

While strolling through the gardens, be sure to visit the Children’s Garden which becomes “Candyland” with a bright, colorful gingerbread house. And, don’t forget to strolls through the gardens to see the beautifully community-decorated Christmas trees.

See Santa Claus before he gets busy organizing elves, checking the “list”, and making Christmas toys!

 

Create a Christmas Ornament using natural materials

10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Nature Discovery Center Lab

The whole family can work together to make an ornament using natural materials. Take home your unique creation to display on your Christmas tree!

 

Christmas Strolls will usher in the Christmas Season with colorful displays throughout the garden during the evenings of December 7, December 11-14, and December 18-21, 2019 from 6 p.m. through 9 p.m.

Shangri La is a 250+ acre space in Orange, Texas, along the waterways of Adams Bayou that combines botanical gardens and an education nature center in a unique way.
