Orangefield ISD begins search for new superintendent

Orangefield ISD Board of Trustees selected Kevin Weldon as the Interim Superintendent effective November 21, 2019 to lead the district while a search for a permanent superintendent is conducted.  

Weldon has several years of experience as a superintendent and the Board is confident he will provide effective leadership for the district during this transition period, according to a press release from the school district.

Dr. Stephen Patterson resigned earlier this month. Patterson was named Superintendent in 2012.

A posting for the position shows the qualifications and requirements:

  • Campus and central office experience required (3 years +)
  • Texas superintendent certificate required
  • Residency in district preferred
  • Supportive of school marshal program

All applications and supporting documents must be received by 5 p.m. on January 2, 2020.
