HOOP ROUNDUP: Bobcats cruise past Legacy

The Orangefield Bobcats rattled Beaumont Christian 81-35 Tuesday night.

The Bobcats (1-1) outscored Legacy 40-21 in the first half and 40-14 in the second half to cruise to the victory.

The Bobcats were extremely balanced, placing five players in double figures.

Tyler Greenwood and John Curphy led the Bobcat arsenal with 14 points apiece. Coy Bryant chimed in with 13 points while Bryce Bergeron contributed 12 points and Daniel Durbin 10.

Durbin hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds while Curphy had nine and Clayson Choate pulled in six. Greenway also notched five steals while Payton Wrinkle added five assists.

The Bobcats will travel to Hull-Daisetta Friday to face the Bobcats.

 

BC boys

The Bridge City Cardinals took down the Vidor Pirates 43-36 Tuesday night.

Gabe Castillo powered the Cardinal arsenal with 16 points while Austin Richardson poured in 13.

Guard Gage Galloway paced the Pirates with 11 points.

The Cardinals will head to Nederland Saturday to face the Bulldogs.

 

OF girls

BEAUMONT – The Orangefield Lady Bobcats fell on the road to the Beaumont West Brook Lady Bruins 56-43 Tuesday night at Bruin Gym.

The Lady Bruins outscored the Lady Bobcats (4-4) 30-17 in the first half and maintained the lead the rest of the way.

Faith Fregia had 17 points and three rebounds for the Lady Bobcats. Jacey Bourque filtered in 12 points, had six rebounds and swiped two steals.

Harleigh Rawls had six points and eight rebounds while Joli Ponfick had five points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Lady Bobcats will host PN-G Friday.

 

BC girls

The Bridge City Lady Cardinals dropped a 44-39 decision to the Tarkington Lady Longhorns in overtime Tuesday.

Aspen Daniels had a nice night for the Lady Cardinals, pumping in 17 points while teammate Kaylen Smith added eight.

Bridge City competes in the Nederland Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

 

WO-S girls

JASPER – The Jasper Lady Bulldogs downed the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs 60-26 Tuesday night.

Keshaunia Winbush led the Lady Mustangs with nine points. Post Marlandria Hebert contributed five points, eight rebounds and five steals.

The Lady Mustangs will host West Brook Tuesday.
