Special to the Leader

Let the Lord, Jesus Christ mold you and transform you into his intentional purpose for Him.

Life has brought us ups and downs spiritually and emotionally. Some of us have tried ways of dealing with these trials through drugs, alcohol, sex and toxic relationships.

From these experiences, we may have lost our focus along the way. Depression, anxiety and other mental issues may have attached to us in our lives and some of us may feel trapped.

I’m here to tell you that you are not trapped. Nor are you so deep in the darkness that there is no way out. There is a way out. I know the Doctor prescribes medicine for your dilemma. By all means, take your medicine and don’t stop! I’m wanting to tell you about a man named Jesus Christ, who can do what no doctor can.

Jesus will provide an escape out of things we turn to in times of trouble. He can deliver you from depression and emotional issues. He can also deliver you from drugs, alcohol, sex and toxic relationships.

You might ask the question: How do I know?

Well, the answer is I’ve been through despair in life and Jesus brought me out. I was diagnosed with a serious bout of depression years ago. I went in and out of the hospital many times.

I was turning to things I’m not proud of to deal with my situation.

Then one day I finally got tired and cried out to God to rescue me from myself.

Through prayer, fasting and asking Jesus for deliverance, the Chains that had me bound were finally broken.

It wasn’t easy to get to where I am today but I can say, I made it through.

God answered my prayers but it took for me to do my part and be obedient to his word.

So, now I’m wanting to reach out to the community. I’m wanting to begin a faith-based support group in Orange, Texas.

This outreach is to help people dealing with depression and other issues cope and overcome.

I hope and pray the love of Jesus Christ reaches out to everyone who needs support and a listening ear.

Our first meeting will be Oct. 22, 2019, at 303 N. Eighth Street in Orange, Texas from 6 p.m.-7:15 p.m.
