Lady Cats, Lady Bears net big district volleyball wins

KIRBYVILLE – The Orangefield Lady Bobcats completed the first half of District 22-3A volleyball action by sweeping the Kirbyville Lady Wildcats 25-14, 25-9, 25-13.

The win pushes the Lady Bobcats to 5-2 in 22-3A play.

Faith Fregia led the Lady Bobcats with seven kills while Lily Saucedo had six and Madison Greenway five.

Greenway led the way with seven digs while Fregia and Olivia Grant added five apiece.

Tiffany Ciancaglione notched 14 assists while Bailee South had eight.

Greenway served up eight aces while Hannah Francis had three. Greenway also added three blocks while Emma Humplik had two.

The Lady Bobcats will head to Warren on Tuesday.

 

LC-M girls

SOUR LAKE – The LC-M Lady Bears went on the road and picked up a huge victory over the Hardin-Jefferson Lady Hawks to start the second half of 22-4A play, winning 25-18, 26-24, 26-24.

Chelsea Perry paced the Lady Bears (6-1 in district) with 14 kills while Trinity Williams had nine and Olivia Hogan six.

Williams led the way with 15 digs while Zoe Levens and Brielle Butler added 12 apiece.

Caitlin Woods had a big night setting up the offense with 35 assists while Levens finished with three aces.

The Lady Bears will host first-place Lumberton next Friday in a huge match.
