Two 18-wheelers knocks out power for most of Orange Monday evening

Over 9,000 residents, in two counties, were in the dark Monday night, after two over sized 18-wheelers pulled down several lines and broke an electrical pole while attempting to make a delivery.
According to OCESD 3 Chief M. Manshack, at approximately 6 p.m., units responded to a report of several downed power lines in 9000 block of Farm to Market Road 3247 in Little Cypress.
Two trucks were attempting to deliver an oversized load when they came in contact with the lines. Entergy crews quickly responded to the scene to secure the downed lines.
Several residents in Orange and Newton counties were affected by the outages.
Crews were able to reroute power around the downed lines to restore power to customers not in the area of the downed lines by approximately 8:15 p.m. Residents in Little Cypress area had restored power at approximately 2 a.m.
