PRESS RELEASE — On Thursday, September 19, 2019, at approximately 7:00p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a stalled vehicle in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Jefferson County.  The stalled vehicle was located approximately three  miles west of Beaumont.

The preliminary DPS report indicates that a 2017 Dodge pickup truck was stalled in the westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 during the massive flooding in the area.  After flood waters receded, the driver was found deceased.

The driver, 52-year-old Mark Dukaj of Florida, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Ray Chesson at the scene.
